"La Lonja", one of Palma's most emblematic buildings, hosts for several months the exhibition "Mirall" by the renowned artist Jaume Plensa, who reflects on current problems from his own point of view, with two stainless steel sculptures "facing each other" inside the emblamatic Gothic building. The sculptures, entitled Invisible Laura and Invisible Rui, act as energy units and charge the space with body, soul, light and darkness, opacity and transparency, past and future, which, according to the artist, is a long process of reflection on the dualities of the world. His works reconcile matter and thought within the sculptural language of poetry and appeal, evoking one of the main gods of Roman antiquity: Janus, the deity with two faces, one that looks to the past and the other to the future, inviting the viewer to reflect on the human condition. |
